Dr. L. Eric Pulver received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 1989 and his diploma in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from Northwestern University in Chicago in 1995. He served as an assistant professor at Northwestern University Dental School before becoming Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals from 1999 to 2006, and later as an adjunct instructor at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, focusing on interdisciplinary team treatment planning.
He is the founder of Pulver Oral Surgery, a full-scope, technology-forward private practice at the forefront of oral healthcare. He was awarded honorary alumni membership at the Indiana University School of Dentistry for his contributions to educating graduating classes from 2008–2022, and served as team Maxillofacial Surgeon for the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks from 1999 to 2006.
Dr. Pulver is a board-certified member of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
He lectures nationally and internationally on innovation and technology, with a focus on artificial intelligence, salivary biomarkers, bone adhesives, oral-systemic health, virtual dentistry, digital workflow, 3D printing, and immediate full-mouth surgical and prosthetic reconstruction. He was nominated and elected to the American Dental Association's Innovation Advisory Committee (2024–2026), and is co-founder of the ADA's Summit Series — helping organize and moderate the inaugural Oral Cancer Summit at ADA headquarters in Chicago in May 2025, followed by the Sleep Apnea and Salivary Diagnostics summits. He is focused on "Leading from the Mouth," moving oral healthcare toward functional health and wellness.
He served as Chief Dental Officer of Denti.AI, a cloud-based AI clinical decision-support tool, and was a working member of the ADA Standards Committee's white paper on AI — selected as co-chair for its subsection on future benefits and workflow. He mentors founders through Matter Health, mHUB, and Smile Health (CareQuest), advises numerous startups shaping the future of oral healthcare, and has supported the Glo Good Foundation and Let Love Rule in delivering care to the people of Eleuthera, Bahamas. He is the creator of the Patient-Specific Protocol™ — the clinical standard Implanted Wisdom is built on.
Dr. Pulver's interests are diverse. He completed Improv levels A–F and Stand-Up at The Second City in Chicago (2016–2017), bringing a perspective that spans academics, business, entrepreneurship, and creativity. He is an avid skier, cyclist, and health-span enthusiast who values time with family, friends, and travel.
